Children’s Church

Children’s Church is held in the basement of the church and begins at 11:00 AM and continues until church services end. A variety of experiences are provided with stories, prayer, games, crafts, and worship.  The purpose of this program is to give each child a greater love for Bible stories and to experience the love of God and our Savior, Jesus Christ. Children’s Church is staffed by Barb Hamilton and parent volunteers.

At Franklin United Methodist Church, Sunday, October 29, 2023, was an exceptionally good day – not only for the children and youth but for the adults as well. In Children’s Church, we learned that Pumpkins Are Not Perfect And Neither Are People. We played a few pumpkin games, and then after worship service, it was time for our annual Trunk or Treat. See our Facebook page for additional pictures.

On Mother’s Day Sunday at Franklin UMC, Pastor Mike talked to the children about how a sponge soaks up liquids, and how children are like a sponge, as they also absorb what they see and hear from others around them.  We made Dinosaur Mother’s Day cards for our moms, and passed out yummy muffins to all the church women who make a difference in their lives each and every day.

Easter Sunday, 2023 was a day of many blessings.  We had lots of people in church upstairs and lots of children.  Pastor Mike showed the children how to make a cross and the word LIFE out of an ordinary sheet of paper.  The little ones all went home with lots of eggs filled with good stuff from the egg hunt, and the older kiddos found all the giant eggs and crosses.

On the third Sunday of Advent, the congregation at Franklin United Methodist Church experienced much JOY as they watched Maggie Pritchard’s best-laid plans for an absolutely, positively perfect Christmas for her family unravel. The characters in our play included some of our church’s finest young and young-at-heart adults, and if you missed the play, it can be viewed at this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tOlMXiKrzlo
